Yesterday Eric dropped the news that two more have joined Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell for THE SURROGATES. Those names were the gorgeous Rosamund Pike (below) and natural badass Ving Rhames.
Well there’s some more casting news for SURROGATES coming from Moviehole.net. Those dudes are saying that Michael Jai White is reportedly set to join this futuristic flick’s cast.
You may or may not know who White (right) is, but he’s definately been racking up the credits over the past few years. One of his notable credits was that of the psycho behind the cape of SPAWN. I can definately see White owning some screen time in this sci-fi flick. Mind you, this isn’t really a done deal yet, so we’ll keep you updated.
THE SURROGATES is based off the novel by Robert Venditti. It’s set in the near future, where humans live in isolation and interact vicariously through surrogate robots who are better-looking versions of themselves. Willis plays a cop who, through his surrogate, investigates the murders of others’ surrogates. The cop is forced to venture from his own home for the first time in years and unravels a conspiracy. Rhames will be a charismatic cult figure who disdains the use of surrogates and tries to lead an uprising against the “new world order.”
Michael Ferris and John Brancato are the duo behind the script while Jonathan Mostow directs. Production starts later this month.
