Anthony Hopkins tracking down a serial killer this time in Solace

I’m so used to seeing the great Anthony Hopkins as a villain that when I read this latest article over at Variety I had to do a double take. Hopkins as the good guy? Come on! Just look at the dude! He can strike fear deep into your heart just by looking at you. But alas Hopkins seems destined to play a serial killer-tracking psychic this time around.

I’m talking about a project called SOLACE, which is coming our way from New Line and producers Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson. Apparently this thing has already had four different writers including Sean Bailey, Ted Griffin, James Vanderbilt and most recently, Peter Morgan.

Hopkins will play John Clancy, a former doctor with psychic abilities who works for the FBI and is drawn into a unique serial killer case that pits him against a formidable foe.

I’m still not convinced Hopkins is the good guy in this one. I almost refuse to believe it actually. What says you guys? Can you see Hopkins in the ‘good guy’ role? Nah, I didn’t think so.

There’s no director signed on for SOLACE just yet but I’m sure we can expect one soon considering the film starts production early next year. So as soon as any updates for SOLACE come rolling our way you can bet we’ll be passing them right along to all of you.
