Last month we told you how THE WOLF MAN was awaiting yet another release date. Well today Variety dropped word on when we can be expecting THE WOLF MAN to hit theaters.
The new date for the flick is a whole 7 months later than the prior date! Once slated for April 3rd, THE WOLF MAN will now be opening on November 6th. Wow… something’s gotta be wrong here. Variety sites the reasoning as giving the film a more high profile release while giving the filmmakers more than enough post-production time.
A more high profile release? They’re remaking one of the original monsters of Hollywood! I know genre fans are already stoked, not sure how the general public will react to a WOLF MAN movie. Time will tell. Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an American man is bitten, and subsequently cursed by, a werewolf. That’s the simple way of putting it.
The movie stars Benicio Del Toro as the titular Wolfy, Emily Blunt (below), Anthony Hopkins, and Hugo Weaving. It’s directed by Joe Johnston with a script from Andrew Kevin Walker with a rewrite by David Self. So now we’re looking at November 6th. Keep it here for any more WOLF MAN news.
