There’s news rolling in that Simon Baker (pictured) has just joined the cast of NOT FORGOTTEN. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Baker will play a bank manager in a U.S.-Mexico border town haunted by the death of his daughter. He and his wife approach a Latina soothsayer to find out what happened to the girl, but the old woman’s visions threaten to dredge up secrets from their tortured pasts.
Could be interesting. NOT FORGOTTEN was directed by Dror Soref and was written by Soref and Tomas Romero. Soref will also be producing with Donald Zuckerman. Kirk D’Amico, Michelle Seward, and Dennis Stuart Murphy are all executive producers. Zuckermane had the following to say about the film:
“The key points in this film — the love of a family, Latino culture, spirituality — are interpreted in a way we rarely ever see in the movies.”
‘We rarely see in movies?’ Nothing is rare in movies these days. D-Amico had this to add:
“I’ve been wanting for some time to make a film exploring this culture, and I eagerly anticipate (Soref’s) interpretation of the material.”
So looks like this one is going to emphasize the Latino culture big time. Principal photography is set to start this January in New Mexico. We’ll keep you updated on any NOT FORGOTTEN news.
