Christopher Smith is becoming a name in the genre we take notice of. He’s brought us flicks like CREEP, SEVERANCE, and the upcoming TRIANGLE. But the movie I’m here to talk about today is BLACK DEATH. Now I’m a sucker for any flick dealing with this time period so it had my interest even before Smith’s name popped up.
The update today comes from the international Sean Bean fan-site Bean-Land.de. It’s not a huge update but it’s worth taking note of. Bean-Land recently got their hands on some behind the scenes shots from BLACK DEATH and depict Bean all decked out in a full beard. Nice. I don’t see how it’s possible to dislike Bean… the guy oozes badass and has the same last three letters in his first and last name. That’s hard to come by folks!
Kidding aside I’m actually a big fan of Bean as I’m sure most genre fans are. I also think it’s safe to assume most genre fans dig Christopher Smith’s work so I’ll drop you all with the details for BLACK DEATH before I sign off. Here’s the synopsis: BLACK DEATH centers on a band of brothers whose quest is to hunt down a necromancer against the backdrop of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England. A young monk is sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, meanwhile a mercenary arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler.
BLACK DEATH is set to hit UK theaters courtesy of Revolver and will then hit the US via DVD thanks to Sony Pictures. Keep it here as we await more updates.
