Beowulf trailer

JoBloJoBlo

Wow. I’m not sure what I was expecting from Robert Zemeckis’ “performance capture” movie BEOWULF, but it wasn’t something quite so… real.

The upcoming computer-animated movie, which should be pretty goddamn astonishing in 3-D, is a take on the old heroic poem about a warrior battling a monstrous creature called Grendel. Some of the characters seem to closely resemble their fleshy counterparts (hello, Angelina), while others such as Crispin Glover (he’s the beast) and Ray Winstone (I sorta doubt his abs look like that) have been heavily modified for their part.

Either way, the technique seems to produce far more natural results than the nightmarish THE POLAR EXPRESS and should make for a fantastic moviegoing experience this November. Check out the trailer RIGHT HERE and decide for yourself!
