It’s no news that we’re knee deep in SAW VI media right now. The flick is less than two weeks from release and I have a feeling the advertising hasn’t even kicked into high gear yet. Now I can only ask your opinion on SAW VI so many times so when a little sliver of news pops up regarding not SAW VI… but SAW VII I just had to tell you all!
This isn’t actually any type of news or anything but IGN recently chatted up producer Mark Berg on how exactly they’re planning on bringing SAW VII at us in 3D:
“”Saw, just by the way it’s shot, lends itself to being a 3-D movie. We saw a test that somebody did, a minute of Saw transferred from 2-D to 3-D and it looked great. We’re not going to transfer VII, but we’ll actually shoot it in 3-D. We want to be able to build the sets in a way that takes advantage of depth. We’re going to design traps to come out at you. The pendulum trap that opened the last movie would have been great in 3-D. There’s a lot of the movie we’re planning through the victims eyes, seeing stuff as it comes toward them. But I think the audience wants those moments where the weapon comes into the audience.”
Sounds like Lionsgate are all about gimmick with this one… Let’s hope not. SAW VII is set to come at us from director David Hackl and writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. Head on over to IGN to see what the writers think of the jump to 3D and keep it here for more on SAW VII as we hear it!
What do you think the chances are Shawnee Smith makes the cut for SAW VII?
