Bill Murray finally talks Ghostbusters: Afterlife, “It’s gonna work”

The fine folks over at Vanity Fair recently wrote up their visit to the set of director Jason Reitman's upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE and talked to Bill Murray about his role in the new film and how the film deals with the death of original Ghostbuster Harold Ramis.

Murray said:

Well, we are a man down. That’s the deal. And that’s the story that we’re telling, that’s the story they’ve written. The script is good. It’s got lots of emotion in it. It’s got lots of family in it, with through lines that are really interesting. It’s gonna work.

GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE is said to focus on a family

who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

The cast currently includes Carrie Coon as a single mother, with Finn Wolfhard as her son, Mckenna Grace as her daughter, and Paul Rudd as a teacher. GHOSTBUSTERS stars set to return include Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Raymond Stantz, Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett, Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz, and Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore.

Directed by Jason Reitman from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Gil Kenan based on the original film which was written by Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ivan Reitman. GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE is produced by Ivan Reitman. It hits a theater near you on July 10, 2020.
