Blade: MCU reboot starring Mahershala Ali most likely to be PG-13

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

During his first-ever TCA panel from the set of Ms. Marvel, MCU head honcho Kevin Feige talked about ratings – specifically that Deadpool 3 entering the universe would remain rated-R, but that for Marvel's other projects, he stated:

We have never been held back by [PG-13 ratings]…If we ever are, then certainly there could be a discussion to be had… but that just hasn't been the case yet.

This honestly doesn't bode well for Blade's upcoming MCU reboot starring Mahershala Ali, as it seems that Deadpool 3 will be the exception to the rule, rather than a potential new trend for edgier heroes.  Which is a bummer, since yeah, you could do a PG-13 vampire film (the Twilight series made five of them), but the lack of plasma in a Blade film seems wrong somehow. But I still think I could enjoy it if the script and action were cool enough. We'll see.

Meanwhile, Blade's standalone film will be coming out sometime in late 2022, though he may be making a prior appearance that year in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness March 25, 2022.

So what do you guys think? Would you be okay with a PG-13 rated Blade? Either way, sound off below!
