I’m sure most genre fans know about NBC’s FEAR ITSELF. When Showtime decided to out MASTERS OF HORROR, this is what happened. Producers Mick Garris, Andrew Deane, and Keith Addis decided to bring the concept to NBC with FEAR ITSELF.
Stemming from the great TALES FROM THE CRYPT, I’m always down with horror anthologies. I’ve actually been meaning to pick up the MASTERS OF HORROR set, so FEAR ITSELF is welcomed by me. Being on network TV means it will be PG-13 oriented though, but that seems to be the only downside.
A couple weeks ago Eric told you about a group of directors that will be bringing their ideas to this series. They are: Stuart Gordon, Brad Anderson, John Carpenter, Ernest Dickerson, Mary Harron, Ronny Yu, and Breck Eisner.
Well Bloody-Disgusting have word on who the newest name to join the fray is, and that’s some guy named Darren Lynn Bousman (above). Well Mr. Lynn Bousman is more then some guy. You may know him actually (note the sarcasm). He’s directed SAW II, SAW III, SAW IV, and the upcoming REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA. Looks like they’ve got a pretty sweet line-up thus far for FEAR ITSELF. It’s hitting our TVs later this year.
