Brahms: The Boy II lands MPAA rating

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

BRAHMS: THE BOY II, director William Brent Bell's sequel to his 2016 film THE BOY, was originally scheduled to reach theatres back on July 26th… but that didn't happen. That's because Distributor STX Entertainment decided to move the release out of the busy summer months and give it a slightly more peaceful release date of December 6th. And today we have word that the MPAA has slapped the sequel with (big surprise) a PG-13 rating for

"violence, terror, brief strong language and thematic elements."

Written by Stacey Menear, who also wrote the first movie, BRAHMS: THE BOY II tells the following story:

Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

I'm looking forward to seeing this sequel and checking in on Brahms again. I enjoyed the first movie more than I was expecting. The December release date works for me. This summer already had too many creepy dolls in it anyway.

Katie Holmes, Christopher Convery, Owain Yeoman, and Ralph Ineson star. The film is produced by Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, Eric Reid, Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa, and Roy Lee. BRAHMS: THE BOY II will creep around inside the walls of your local multiplex on December 6, 2019.
