The Suffering Robert Hamilton

In April of 2015, we shared the trailer for director Robert Hamilton's film THE SUFFERING, which at the time was seeking distribution. When shown the film, distributors obviously liked what they saw, because distribution deals have since been secured and THE SUFFERING will soon start making its way out into the world.

The first release will come in the U.S., with Breaking Glass Pictures scheduling a limited theatrical release on Friday, July 29th. A DVD, VOD, and On Demand release will follow on the next Tuesday, August 2nd.

THE SUFFERING's international distribution rights are in the hands of Recreation Media and Level 33 Entertainment.

Written by Hamilton and Marco V. Scola, the film tells the story of

Henry Dawles, who is at a cross roads in life. A diminished bank account and baby on the way with his estranged wife, has his personal life in shambles. When Mr. Remiel, an elderly shut in, offers Henry a lucrative sum to appraise his rural estate, he accepts without hesitation.

What follows is a harrowing exploration of mind and madness. A journey through an estate as vast and beautiful as it is secretive and horrific. When Henry closes in on the land’s dark truth, Remiel’s eccentric behavior takes a menacing and unforgettable turn. In this twisted tale of morality and redemption, Henry must confront the terrors of his present while coming to terms with the horrors of his past.

Nick Apostolides, Elizabeth Deo, Regen Wilson, Phil Amico, Chad Eric Smith, and Liz Christmas star.
