Campbell talks sequels

If your a genre fan, chances are you dig the man known as ‘The Chin.’ The one and only Bruce Campbell. He’s the one behind classics like THE EVIL DEAD franchise, BUBBA-HO-TEP, MANIAC COP, and ALIEN APOCALYPSE….. anyway…

Recently IESB.net caught up with the man himself at the Spike TV Scream Awards. They asked him about all of his upcoming projects.

Firstly, about BUBBA NOSFERATU. Now I’m sure many of you have heard about Bruce Campbell taking himself off the project. Well IESB got down to it and asked him what happened. According to Campbell, he and director Don Coscarelli couldn’t agree on the script. Come on man! He’s Bruce Campbell, he wants the script changed, change it. Now your going to make a BUBBA movie without him? I can’t comprehend that. It’s a pretty disappointing news bit, considering Bruce was set to reprise his role of Elvis for BUBBA NOSFERATU, it’s been in the works for a while and had a lot of us waiting for it. Now minus Bruce, the rest of the cast thus far includes Paul Giamatti and Dwayne Johnson apparently. Oh man, that could’ve been something.

Bruce also dropped some news on his film MY NAME IS BRUCE. Now that is at the very top of my most anticipated movies list. I’m a big EVIL DEAD/Ash fan, so from the second I heard about MY NAME IS BRUCE I was stoked. Bruce revealed that MY NAME IS BRUCE is almost set to go for release in 2008 (even getting a theatrical release!), just needing a little more visual effects work. That’s not the only news he dropped on the matter. He also revealed that he and Dark Horse Indie are already working on MY NAME IS BRUCE 2, which he’ll be directing once again. The only thing we know about that one is that it’ll take the man known as Bruce to the far off land of Europe, where he’ll be ‘the ugly American.’
