Carell goes French

JoBloJoBlo

Steve Carell put his cinematic linguistic aptitude on the screen in GET SMART, but now he’s shifting his tongue from Russian to French.

Carell will wrap his lips around the romance language for THE ADVENTURES OF BRIGADIER GERARD, based on short stories from Sherlock Holmes’ creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Carell would play the title character, a brave but clueless swordsman in Napoleon’s army.

The movie is one of several Carell is considering when THE OFFICE goes on spring hiatus — he’s also looking at a GET SMART sequel and the previously announced comedy DATE NIGHT, which would pair him with the recently A-listed Tina Fey.
