One of the best things about this genre are the lesser known movies. The “B” movies if you will. They come a dime a dozen, and nowadays there’s usually several hidden gems that stand out above the rest. So we horror junkies are always looking to these B movies for some fresh ideas that’ll make us take notice.
Well I don’t have any news on anything original today. Instead I’ve got some news on a flick called THE CARETAKER. Very un-original, but it seems like it’s filled with campy fun. The synopsis reads: A group of teenage boys out to give their girlfriends a good scare on Halloween/Homecoming night head to an abandoned house in an out-of-the-way grapefruit orchard where they reveal the story of a real life urban legend “THE CARETAKER.” Sounds great to me. The cast includes Jennifer Tilly (below), Judd Nelson, Jonathan Breck, Andrew St. John, Jennifer Freeman, James Immekus, Diego Torres, Kira Verrastro, and the topless chick I mentioned is Lola Davidson. Genre names like Tilly and Breck, then throw in Judd frickin Nelson and I’m there. It’s written by Jackie Linder Olson and directed by Bryce Fridrik Olson. It’s hitting DVD shelves February 14, 2008.
