Cheaper by the Dozen: Zach Braff Interview

This week sees the release of Disney Plus’ reboot of Cheaper by the Dozen. Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union headline this modernized take on the Steve Martin hit, which itself was a remake of an old 20th Century Fox movie from the fifties. Braff plays the harried father of a household of, you guessed it, twelve kids. The twist here is that they’re in a blended household, with Braff and Union’s character each having kids from a previous marriage, which kind of gives it a dab of realism in my view.

This fresh reimagining is co-written and produced by the man behind Black-ish, Kenya Barris, while Gail Lerner directs. Braff is always a likable, charming fellow who always gives a fun interview. Here, he discusses his new role, working with the lovely Gabrielle Union (who we also interviewed – that one goes up tomorrow), and more.

You can check out Cheaper by the Dozen on Disney Plus starting tomorrow, and, of course, if you want to revisit the other Steve Martin-led versions of the franchise, those are streaming too. So will this become a new franchise for Disney? We’ll have to wait and see!
