Richard Jewell, Clint Eastwood

Even at 89 years old, Clint Eastwood is still pumping out movies on a fairly regular basis, and a handful of images from his next film, RICHARD JEWELL, have been released by Warner Bros. The upcoming drama stars I, TONYA's Paul Walter Hauser and is based "based on the life of a security guard whose life was turned upside down in a moment after it was leaked by law enforcement to a reporter that [Richard] Jewell was a possible suspect in the Olympic Park bombing during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. From the moment he was outed by an article written by an overzealous reporter at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jewell went from hero to one of the most hated men in America."

We'll be getting an even better look at RICHARD JEWELL very soon as the first trailer for the film is expected to drop tomorrow. In addition to Paul Walter Hauser, RICHARD JEWELL also stars Sam Rockwell, Kathy Bates, Olivia Wilde, and Jon Hamm. While speaking with USA Today, Hauser said that Clint Eastwood seemed moved by the story of Richard Jewell.

Clint seemed broken up about the story of Richard Jewell. It still bothered him years later. He sounded like he was hurting for that family, and wanted the story to come out.

"The moment he knew there was a bomb in Centennial Park, Richard was all hands on deck, throwing people out of the way, alerting everyone. Had he not said anything, who knows how many people would have died?" Hauser said, before adding that "Elements of law enforcement, put under pressure, found what they deemed to be evidence to fit a previously-decided-upon narrative. This is a guy that got screwed over."

RICHARD JEWELL is set for a December 13, 2019 release.
