Judd Apatow movies are funny for most audiences and hilarious for the people they skewer. Anyone who has had trouble with their love life could associate with THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN. Many more were able to relate to the plight of dealing with an unexpected pregnancy as in KNOCKED UP. Maybe that is why no one related to FUNNY PEOPLE since most people are not struggling stand up comedians.

THIS IS 40 will ring true with a lot of people, especially married couples who have reached a plateau in their relationship. Everyone hits it at a different point and in a different way, but we can all relate to the discord that can crop up within a family. What Apatow has done is take that realistic look st family and love and turned it into a comedy for everyone. The brilliance of Apatow movies is that they do not rely on unrealistic situations but rather the humor in what real life can sometimes throw at you.

This featurette for THIS IS 40 highlights that approach and shows us some new footage from the flick. If you are already an Apatow hater, I doubt this is the movie to turn you around. But, if you love his movies, this looks to be another good one.

Plot:Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see firsthand how they are dealing with their current state of life.

THIS IS 40 opens on December 25th
