Check out Tim Burton’s new music video for The Killers’ Here With Me

I miss the old Tim Burton. You remember him? The guy who brought us EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, MARS ATTACKS, ED WOOD, and BATMAN? Yeah, he has disappeared in recent years in favor of this Disney-fied version of himself. Sure, he has had a few interesting projects in the last decade (I liked DARK SHADOWS), but nothing compared to the old days.

Maybe what he needed was a small project to experiment with. The new video for The Killers’ “Here With Me” may be that project. While The Killers never felt Burton-esque to me, I have to say this video is pretty damn good. In it, actor Craig Roberts (SUBMARINE) becomes obsessed with a wax doll based on his favorite performer played by the still hot Winona Ryder.

It is dark, it is brooding, and it lacks the light humor that has pervaded Burton’s recent work. I hope we can get a psychological thriller like this in feature form from him and soon!

Check out the video below.
