Chucky, an 8-episode TV series continuation of the Child’s Play franchise, is scheduled to begin airing on both Syfy and USA Network on October 12th. With two months to go until the premiere, Don Mancini – who has written every Child’s Play film (except for the remake), directed a few of them, and developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner – took to social media to celebrate the fact that filming has wrapped. All 8 episodes have been shot! Also celebrating on social media was cast member Jennifer Tilly, who is reprising the role of Tiffany. Check out their posts here:

Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Mancini also directed the first episode. The show’s synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

In addition to Tilly, the cast of the series includes Zackary Arthur, Devon Sawa (playing the dual role of twin brothers), Fiona Dourif, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Jacob Breedon, Alex Vincent, Lexa Doig, Teo Briones, Christine Elise, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Lind’s real-life mother Barbara Alyn Woods. David Kohlsmith is playing the young Charles Lee Ray for the scenes where we’ll see his “untold origins”, and Brad Dourif is once again providing the voice of Chucky the killer doll.

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (except for that remake), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. I’m hyped, I can’t wait to watch this show.
