Cinderella’s Curse images offer a look at Louisa Warren’s twisted fairy tale

Last month, we shared the news that ITN Studios, the company that brought us Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, is teaming with producer/director Louisa Warren on two fractured fairy tale horror movies: Cinderella’s Curse and Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre. Now Variety and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have gotten their hands on some images that offer a preview of Cinderella’s Curse, and you can check them out at the bottom of this article. One of those images even gives the first look at the film’s “cunning, cruel, and deadly” version of the Fairy Godmother!

Coming our way from ChampDog Films, Cinderella’s Curse was scripted by Harry Boxley. Warren told Bloody Disgusting, “This an incredibly unique spin on the Cinderella we all love and know. There are going to be some truly horrific deaths by her hands. I think the gore hounds are in for a treat in my dark retelling.“

The film stars Kelly Rian Sanson, Chrissie Wunna, and Danielle Scott. Wunna plays the Fairy Godmother and says this version of the Cinderella story “winks toward Carrie“. She also promised that things are going to get “extremely bloody” when her character is around.

While Warren wasn’t involved with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, she has worked with that film’s producer Scott Jeffrey multiple times, crafting films about creepy mermaids, scarecrows, and dolls. They’ve even made several horror Tooth Fairy movies. Jeffrey is currently collaborating with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield on a series of films that will put a horror twist on public domain children’s stories like Peter Pan and Bambi.

Cinderella’s Curse went into production last month and ITN Studios is already planning to give it an October 2023 release.
