It’s a funny thing when you can personally relate to a movie’s tagline. The slogan for CITY OF EMBER reminds of my the same sentence that kept going through my head fourteen years ago when I followed that man back to his car for a promised Mr. Big, and I ended up drugged somehow in his backseat. Believing that slogan is the only reason I’m still here today, and I firmly believe that. CITY OF EMBER is based on an acclaimed novel and is directed by the promising young Gil Kenan, whose first film was the Spielberg-backed gem MONSTER HOUSE. The film has a wonderful cast that includes Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Toby Jones and Harry Treadaway.
