Netflix‘s Cobra Kai is returning to the dojo after the SAG-AFTRA resolution, and we’ve got news about a new and exciting cast addition! Cobra Kai Season 6 proudly welcomes C.S. Lee (DexterEast New YorkChuck) as the iconic character from The Karate Kid, Master Kim Sun-Young.

According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, the character previously appeared only in flashback form, portrayed by Jun Chong in The Karate Kid and later Don Lee in Cobra Kai. Master Kim is presumed dead, and at this time, it is unknown whether Lee will appear in flashback form only.

Alicia Hannah-Kim plays Master Kim’s granddaughter Kim Da-Eun in Cobra Kai, a ruthless sensei in Terry Silver’s (Thomas Ian Griffith) plan to establish a global franchise of Cobra Kai-taught fighting machines. Master Kim taught Terry and John Kreese (Martin Kove) everything, including The Way of the Fist, an aggressive martial arts style in direct opposition to Mr. Miyagi’s teachings and values.

Initially, Cobra Kai Season 6 was supposed to launch on Netflix in December, but the strikes in Hollywood from writers and actors made the deadline impossible. Now that gears are turning for projects to get up and running again, it’s only a matter of time before Cobra Kai rolls cameras on the martial arts drama’s final season.

In June, the Cobra Kai cast attended an emotional table read of the final season, with everyone giving their all to the show one last time. Netflix released a video for the table read, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the off-script chemistry behind the hit show.

As seen in the video, Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) expresses his excitement by telling his co-stars, “Great to have everyone back! So excited to be here!” William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) also charged up the cast with a lively, “It’s been an awesome, long journey, but it is not over yet. Season six could be the biggest, the badassest, most amazing season of Cobra Kai yet, so y’all ready?!”

Fans even get a snippet from the script itself, with actor Gianni DeCenzo, who plays Demetri Alexopoulos, reading: “Victorious dojos are immortalized and for individual competitors, the sky’s the limit…But before we throw our hats into the mat, there’s one thing we need to do: decide our dojo name.”
