Cool Videos: Awesome ode to John Woo’s Hard Target featuring the unrated version’s footage!

A few months ago I did a Best Movie You Never Saw on John Woo's HARD BOILED, which is a masterful action flick starring Chow Yun Fat. In that column I mentioned the uncut version of Woo's first American film, HARD TARGET, which stars Jean-Claude Van Damme in a modern take on The Most Dangerous Game. I am an unabashed fan of the film, but got my mitts on a copy of the unrated, director's cut (originally given an NC-17) and found that it was even more violent and over the top than what it was trimmed down to, taking it to a whole other level of badass. Now, we have the compilation you always dreamed of as Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" plays under the unrated footage, featuring all the slow-mo shootouts, air flips, kicks to the face, and staright up Van Dammage you could ever want (but never got). We're not in the habit of running every compilation that comes our way (seriously, don't bum rush me after this), but this one seemed fitting for this fine Friday.

Kickstart my Van Damme Heart:

If you haven't seen HARD TARGET then you are seriously missing out. Check it out on Netflix, iTunes, or Amazon instant.
