Cool Videos

One thing I absolutely love is a nerd with a creative mind and too much time on his or her hands. I'm not being sarcastic at all: I think it's really fascinating to see what people will create when they feel inspired, have an idea or are just simply bored.

You might be familiar with the Youtube channel Hack a Day. It's the same channel that brought us a slightly working Portal gun and a bug zapping Lightsaber. Now they've created a "fully" functioning Mjolnir, the hammer that is wielded by the mighty Thor. Using Tesla coils, a rechargeable battery, foam, PVC pipe and leather, they've created a hammer that will shoot lightening just like the "real" one. I've also included the "How it was made" video so if you want to go as Thor for Halloween and really impress some people you can make your own. Just make sure you have some knowledge on Tesla coils before you start this as a project. Have you ever been electrocuted? It sucks. A lot.
