I love hearing about filmmakers putting a short movie together only to have it recognized by Hollywood and get offered a chance at the big time. Sometimes it pans out and other times you never see the project come to fruition, but it is always cool to see someone get their dream realized.

Kasra Farahani, a concept artist who worked on STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, THOR, and AVATAR, decided to stretch his abilities beyond just pre-production of films. He put together an original story and filmed it. The resulting short film, NOON,

Plot: NOON is a scene from a completed feature screenplay. The short sets up the world’s unique premise and introduces our protagonist, Gray, a coyote numbed to the cruelty of the world and his part in it. We watch Gray struggle to salvage what humanity still exists within him when profit is pitted against morality.

Chernin Entertainment will produce a full length version of the short, to be directed by Farahani. No word on casting or a release date, but how cool is it that this guy is getting a chance at the big time? Check out the full short below.
