Coraline features

I’ve been keeping tabs on the dark animated flick CORALINE ever since I heard of it earlier this year. It looks to be right on par with THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and let’s face it… THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS rocks hard.

CORALINE’s slightly twisted synopsis reads: Coraline Jones is bored and unhappy in her new home with its strange neighbors both upstairs and down. Then she discovers a secret door to a better version of her life, a world created by her Other Mother to delight and entertain her and fill her with delicious meals. There’s just one “small thing” she’ll need to do if she wants to stay in this magical place forever.

Now tie that in with the fact that it’s coming from NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS’ director Henry Selick and I’m sold!

Well IGN are working on posting a host of featurettes for CORALINE in the next week. They’ve already got a couple up titled: ‘Crafting the stop-motion world of Coraline’ and ‘Watch as Henry Selick and Neil Gaiman bring Coraline to life.’ So go ahead and check those out over here.

Every day this week there’ll be a new CORALINE feature over at IGN so keep checking back. CORALINE is set to hit theaters February 6.
