George A. Romero is one of my favorite filmmakers, so of course his 1982 Stephen King collaboration Creepshow (watch it HERE) is one of my favorite films… and I’m glad to hear that Scream Factory is set to give the classic anthology movie a 4K UHD release on June 27th. Copies are available for pre-order on the Scream Factory website, and there are multiple options to choose from. You can buy the 4K UHD copy of the movie on its own, in a bundle with exclusive posters, an exclusive slipcover, and a prism sticker, in another bundle that adds an enamel pin set into the mix, or in another bundle that adds on some lobby cards. There are limited numbers of these bundles available, so head over to Scream Factory ASAP to get yours.

Directed by Romero from a screenplay by King, Creepshow has the following synopsis: Writer Stephen King and director George Romero. Like Dr. Frankenstein and his monster or Dracula and his blood-sucking harem, this is a team to be reckoned with. King’s works – Carrie, Cujo, The Shining, Salem’s Lot, Misery and many others – make him a legend of the silver scream. And the same holds true for Romero, whose Night Of The Living Dead remains a classic of zombies-on-parade cinema.

The two macabre masters combine their terrifying talents in Creepshow – and prove why theirs is the teaming horror fans have been deliciously dreading! Five shockingly clever stories are here, each a virtuoso exercise in fright told in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic ’50s comics like the legendary Tales From The Crypt. You’ll be scared silly as you witness: A murdered father back from the grave for Father’s Day cake – and revenge!…A crashed meteor oozing gunk that gets everything growing, including human flesh!…A professor selecting his shrewish wife as an hors d’oeuvres for a ravenous Bigfoot-like monster!…A diabolical beach party with Cheers star Ted Danson up to his neck in terror!…The gruesome results when a malevolent millionaire who fears insects goes eyeball to bugeye with about six-jillion cockroaches! King and Romero. The right talents. The right mix of humor and horror. Let the Creepshow begin!

The film stars Tom Atkins, Joe Hill, Viveca Lindfors, Ed Harris, Carrie Nye, John Amplas, Stephen King, Bingo O’Malley, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, Gaylen Ross, Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, Christine Forrest, E.G. Marshall, David Early, and Tom Savini.

Scream Factory notes that the full details on the bonus features that will be featured in the Creepshow 4K UHD will be revealed at a later date.
