When you’re dealing with movies as enormous as those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s bound to be a lot of rumours, but once the movie is released, fans quickly realize which were true and which weren’t. There were plenty of rumours swirling before the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including one that claimed Daniel Craig would make an appearance.

It was rumoured that Daniel Craig would have appeared in the Doctor Strange sequel as Balder the Brave, Thor’s brother, and concept art of the character even emerged with Craig’s likeness. But while speaking with BBC Radio 1, Craig dismissed the rumours as just that. “It’s all a rumor,” Craig said with a laugh. “I don’t know where these things come from… There was a lot of lockdown craziness. There was a time when you just had to put COVID at the end of every sentence.

Balder the Brave was reportedly set to have appeared in the Illuminati sequence, which included Mr. Fantastic (John Krasinski), Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), and Black Bolt (Anson Mount). In a separate interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Craig was asked if he’d ever heard of Balder the Brave, to which he responded with a hesitant “No,” before hiding behind his mug and adding, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” As for whether he would ever want to appear in the MCU, the actor responded, “I would take any job if the hours were good… Sure, absolutely. Yeah, definitely.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continued to unlock the Multiverse and pushed its boundaries further than ever before as Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) traversed the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary with the help of mystical allies both old and new. In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, the Doctor Strange sequel starred Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Benedict Wong as Wong.

What Marvel role do you think Daniel Craig would be a good fit for?
