If there's a lesson I should take away from PROMETHEUS, it's to not let myself get too hyped up about a film. The images and trailers released for Ridley Scott's return to sci-fi painted the picture of something brilliant; the end result, while beautiful, didn't exactly live up to what I'd imagined. Production on ALIEN: COVENANT has been underway for several weeks and we've been teased with several behind-the-scenes set photos, the latest of which features Danny McBride on the bridge of the Covenant accompanied by director Ridley Scott.

In addition to some rather intriguing spy photos from the set of ALIEN: COVENANT, we've also received official looks at both Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender's characters. Although it's too early to say whether ALIEN: COVENANT will please those burnt by PROMETHEUS, we can almost certainly expect the production design to be top-notch. Just yesterday it was revealed that Noomi Rapace, who Ridley Scott had said wouldn't be back for the sequel, would in fact be joining the cast after all for several weeks worth of scenes.

ALIEN: COVENANT will hit theaters on August 4, 2017.
