According to Screen Daily, Danny Trejo’s next venture into the world of kicking ass and taking names is the appropriately titled BAD-ASS, a revenge thriller in the vein of DEATH WISH and GRAN TORINO. It recently wrapped production in L.A.; surprising since this is the first we’re hearing about it. (Who can really keep track of all of Trejo’s projects, though?) UK-based SC Films has snapped up sales rights to the film, directed by Craig Moss, and will be presenting it to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.

The story breaks down like this:
Trejo stars as decorated Vietnam veteran Frank Vega, who returns home from war to find himself shunned by society. Forty years later, he becomes a local hero after protecting an elderly man.

But his good fortune suddenly turns for the worse when his best friend Klondike is murdered and the police aren’t doing anything about it. Vega decides to take matters into his own hands as he goes in search of the killer only to discover links to local government corruption.

The film also stars Charles Dutton and Ron Perlman; we’re talking about some badass dudes right here!

Hopefully we’ll get distribution news soon.
