Daredevil: Charlie Cox is still the MCU’s choice to play the character

While we’re still going to have to wait a few weeks to find out whether or not Charlie Cox’s rumoured cameo as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, happens in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel chief Kevin Feige says that if the character ever shows up in the MCU, Cox is going to be the one who plays him. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” said Feige during a sit-down with CinemaBlend. “Where we see that how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen,” he added.

Cox himself recently seemed to accept that the character, were it to show up in the MCU, would be reimagined, saying in a video interview with DriiftyFilm, “Look, a lot of time’s passed, so God knows if anything can for us in the future. I really don’t know. Obviously, if something were to happen, that would be thrilling. But because enough time has passed, I would imagine it would have to be a kind of reimagining. Assuming that they choose to use us, it would be an interesting scenario, because it would be a reimagining but with the same foundation. So, I don’t know what it would look like.”

Of course, that all could have been misdirection of Cox’s part, and a lot of fans are convinced that he’s going to show up in No Way Home after a leaked image seemed to suggest as much. But, of course, Marvel promptly denied that the image is the real McCoy, so we’ll see.

That being said, recent developments on Hawkeye seem to suggest that the Netflix MCU shows are considered canon, so we may start to see folks like Cox’s Daredevil and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones show up in the legit MCU.

Are you pumped for a potential return for Charlie Cox as Daredevil?
