Most genre fans can agree on some actors out there just being awesome. They may actually be horrible actors… or real pricks in real life… but it’s hard to look at these guys without mentioning them being awesome. One of those guys is Tom Jane.
Jane has come in and out of our genre. He’s f*cked us up and just f*cked us… but it’s hard to deny the man is badass. Truth be told… I don’t even know why Tom Jane is badass… he just is. So when there’s a genre flicked heading our way that Tom Jane not only stars in… but also directed, then that’s something to take notice of! I’m of course talking about DARK COUNTRY. We’ve been keeping you in the loop regarding DARK COUNTRY since it was announced, with the last update coming a couple weeks ago. Well if you’ve been looking forward to Tom Jane’s DARK COUNTRY then we’ve got an update for you all today!

Now DARK COUNTRY is definitely going down a less traveled road when it comes to today’s genre flicks but isn’t that a good thing? Well what says you? Is DARK COUNTRY looking pretty cool or is the best thing about this one going to be Tom Jane? Speaking of Jane… anyone been following his new show HUNG on HBO? I’ve been meaning to catch up on it but haven’t had the chance… looks hilarious. An average joe who starts escorting because of his large assest… who better than Tom Jane?
Anyway back to DARK COUNTRY. Jane is directing a script from Academy Award nominee Tab Murphy. Along with Jane it also stars Lauren German (below)and Ron Perlman. Here’s the synopsis: Two honeymooners rescue a mysterious car crash survivor in the Las Vegas desert. But their decision to save the man becomes increasingly regrettable when he turns on them, forcing the newlyweds to do the unthinkable. In a blur of paranormal chaos, the couple must take drastic measures to cover up their actions from the local police, ultimately leading each character to an inescapable fate. It’s rated R for some violence, bloody images, language and sexuality and is hitting DVD shelves October 6th!
