As the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down theaters across the globe, studios have been reshuffling release dates for all the movies which were slated to open over the next few months. Most of those movies will still open in theaters either later this year or next, but some films have been taken off the theatrical slate altogether and will instead debut on various streaming services.

Neflix snagged Kumail Nanjiani's THE LOVEBIRDS last month and Disney recently decided to debut ARTEMIS FOWL on Disney+, and the latest theatrical film to move to a streaming service will be MY SPY, the family action/comedy from STX Entertainment which stars Dave Bautista (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY). It was revealed today that the film will be heading to Amazon Prime, but it's not yet known when it will debut. The Peter Segal-directed flick finds Baustista playing "a hardened CIA operative who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit."

MY SPY was slated to hit theaters on April 17th, but there's no word on when the film will debut on Amazon Prime Video. As for Dave Bautista, he's got plenty just over the horizon, including Denis Villeneuve's DUNE and Zack Snyder's ARMY OF THE DEAD.
