I really don’t see why DAY OF THE DEAD isn’t hitting theaters. 28 WEEKS LATER showed that zombie flicks can still make a pretty penny, plus the fact that DAY OF THE DEAD is a remake/re-imagining of George A. Romero’s classic. Not to mention the fact that the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake was pretty damn good.
And from the looks of this trailer… I don’t see why this one isn’t going theatrical. If ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM can go theatrical, why can’t this? I also don’t see why they just didn’t keep the poster pictured (although similar to LAND OF THE DEAD) as the DVD cover… because that other cover is just sad.
The other day Eric showed you all some new pics for DAY OF THE DEAD. Now if you look below, you can see the trailer for it. It’s a pretty badass trailer, then again, so was the trailer for AVP: REQUIEM. We all know you can’t really go by a trailer, but I’m officially looking forward to DAY OF THE DEAD now. It just looks like a fun, decent horror flick. I’m also a fan of director Steve Miner (HALLOWEEN: H2O) and writer Jeffrey Reddick (FINAL DESTINATION). Plus the “Help me, please! – I’ll Help you.” bit is just frickin awesome. Come on, you all know you’d do the exact same thing. To see what I’m talking about, just check out the trailer below.
The synopsis reads: When the world is overrun by the flesh hungry dead a small group of survivors head to an underground military bunker in a last ditch effort to stay alive. It’s directed by Steve Miner and written by Jeffrey Reddick. The film stars Christa Campbell, Nick Cannon, AnnaLynne McCord, Ving Rhames, Stark Sands, and Mena Suvari (below). It’s set to hit DVD shelves April 8.

Seems like Mena Suvari can do it all… and that’s fine with me.
