Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil characters gracing survival horror game

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Dead by Daylight is one of the first asymmetrical horror games – a one versus four online multiplayer game where one player takes on the role of a savage killer, while the other four players play as survivors, trying to escape the killer and avoid being caught – and definitely one of the most influential, inspiring both the recent Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds games. And while the game began with its own creations, inspired by classic horror monsters and archetypes, it has also amassed actually licensed horror characters over the years, such as Michael Myers from Halloween, Ghost Face from Scream, and the Demogorgon from Stranger Things, among others.

Now, you can add Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Nemesis – as well as a Raccoon City Police HQ Map – from the Resident Evil franchise to the game in the recent Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil Chapter DLC! You can see for yourself in the trailer at the top of the article!

And here's the official description for the new additions:

As Nemesis, you’ll be using the T-Virus to infect Survivors by striking them with his tentacle. First contact results in the Survivor coughing and making more noise overall, which is not a good thing when you’re trying to hide. A second hit will cause damage if the Survivor is already infected. Nemesis’ reach of his tentacle is proportionate to the number of Survivors he infects, and reaches its max length after infecting two Survivors. The increased length allows him to hit players through windows, over pallets, and more.

Nemesis isn’t the only thing you’ll have to worry about. As is typical for Resident Evil, you’ll have to deal with zombies that accompany him on whatever map he’s in. When Nemesis is the Killer, zombies will spawn around the map and attempt to attack Survivors by themselves. Much like what happens when Nemesis infects a player, a zombie infection increases Nemesis’ power, and results in the Survivor suffering status ailments. The only way to cure the infection is to find vaccines around the map. Keep in mind that they’re in short supply.

As for Jill and Leon, they have their own unique perks. Jill has a mine that can be placed on generators to explode whenever Killers try to kick the machines, while Leon has a flashbang used to disorient Killers.

Meanwhile, the new DLC will premiere on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices June 15th!

So what do you guys think? Any fans of Dead by Daylight? And if so, which licensed monster would you like to see introduced? Either way, sound off below!
