Desert Shadows trailer: Mitch Pileggi of The X-Files and Shocker stars in creature feature

The Fantaspoa International Fantastic Film Festival is now underway in Brazil, and one of the films that will be premiering at the festival is writer/director Tyler Bourns’ creature feature Desert Shadows, which counts the legendary Mitch Pileggi of The X-Files and Shocker among on its cast members. In anticipation of the film’s premiere, a trailer was released online and can be seen in the embed above.

The tagline for Desert Shadows goes like this: “What do you fear the most? The monster out there… or the monster within.”

Here’s a short synopsis for the film:

When Donnie’s brother Eric suddenly goes missing, he becomes hell bent on tracking him down. Teaming up with an overeager paranormal studies student, they risk everything to find and save him from a deadly creature that has roamed the desert for centuries.

And here’s a slightly longer description of what Desert Shadows is about:

After the death of their father, two brothers decide to embark on a hunting trip to help bring them closer together. But they get more than they bargained for when they become the prey of a deadly creature that has roamed the desert for centuries. Eric, a struggling drug addict, goes missing, while his brother Donnie becomes hellbent on finding him. Following the downward spiral of dangerous clues, he teams up with a professor with a dark past and an overeager paranormal studies student to try to solve the mystery and save Eric before it’s too late.

Pileggi is joined in the cast by newcomer Andy Toulouse, Aaron Foster (No Tomorrow), Richard Leacock (Star Trek: Picard), voice actor Bill Farmer, genre regular Maria Olsen, and Emily Sweet of the Castle Freak remake.
