There’s no denying the television show DEXTER is a hit. It’s lighting up the Showtime channel and is just about ready to get into it’s fourth season this fall. To be honest I haven’t watched a single episode but that’s not for lack of interest. I’ve got the first season resting comfortably on my shelf while it waits for me to find a good time to dive in. Plus I love getting into a series once it’s got a few seasons out of the way. I got through the first four seasons of LOST in two weeks.
Now needless to say I’m very much looking forward to tackling DEXTER… especially after today’s news! The Hollywood Reporter have word that John Lithgow will be stepping in as Dexter’s enemey in the fourth season! Lithgow is probably most recognizable as the ‘father’ from the television show 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN, though the man does have various awards under his belt including some Emmies and even a couple Oscar nominations! Yeah… the guy has been around.
Personally I dug him in one of my favorite comedies: ORANGE COUNTY. The man knows what he’s doing. So the news that he’ll be stepping in as a serial killer in one of television’s most popular series should have you tickled pink. He’ll be playing Walter Simmons, also known as the ‘Trinity Killer.’ Simmons is an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who also has a knack for murdering people in trios, hence ‘Trinity.’ After being tracked by FBI special agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine) Simmons retreats to Miami where Dexter is brought on to assist in the investigation and becomes fascinated with the killer’s skills.
Now that sounds like all kinds of fun! Lithgow (above) will be appearing in all 12 episodes of the fourth season, which premieres September 27th.
