It was just over a week ago that I was right here telling you all how scribe Diablo Cody was opening up a bit about the upcoming EVIL DEAD remake. But that was, as stated, over a week ago! So here with are with more EVIL DEAD talk from the Academy Award winner.
You see while out chatting it up with MTV about her new film YOUNG ADULT, Cody was once again asked about the upcoming remake. Obviously unable to divulge any details on the flick, Cody did share the following:
“It was really important again to the filmmakers that it remain totally grounded in reality and timeless. They weren’t trying to make some hip trendy horror movie full of pop culture references. I really hope people don’t think that that’s what I was hired to do. I came in and worked on characters and relationships, things like that.”
“I will say that Sam Raimi, of course, and Bruce Campbell are both involved as producers and that I wouldn’t have worked on it otherwise. Had to have the original geniuses.”

Rob Tapert is producing alongside Raimi and Campbell with Fede Alvarez set to go behind the camera. There’s no telling when things on THE EVIL DEAD will get underway but my guess is sooner rather than later. As always as soon as we hear more on the project you can bet we’ll be right here telling you about it.
