Back in June, we wrote about AITH fav Dante Tomaselli’s latest film, TORTURE CHAMBER, wrapping up its principal photography. We haven’t heard much on that front since, but now Tomaselli is chatting up its progress in an interview with Examiner.com. Read on!
“It’s in its final stages of post production now. “Torture Chamber” will be finished right around the New Year. Sometime in January. I’m pulling out all-stops in the sound mix now. Since I’m the film’s sound designer, I have over eight thousand sound fx, soundscapes and musical compositions crawling around in my head. I’m almost finished creating the soundtrack. There’s a screening with a distributor planned early next year. The movie should be released later next year.”
In case you’ve missed out on earlier occasions, here’s what TORTURE CHAMBER is about: 13-year-old Jimmy Morgan is possessed by an evil too powerful to be exorcised by any priest. One year after his own brother, Father Mark Morgan, nearly died in the attempt, Jimmy is back with a vengeance—and an army of horribly burned children who follow his every murderous desire. The town of Smithville trembles in fear as Jimmy and his deadly young followers attack and abduct its residents—innocent and guilty alike—dragging their victims to an abandoned castle and subjecting them to grisly torments deep within its catacombs. Those who discover the terrible secret behind the disappearances and deaths don’t live long enough to tell it. The teacher, the doctor, the detective, even Jimmy’s own brother and mother, will all confront their fates in the Torture Chamber.
The film stars Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), Ed Neal (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Lynn Lowry (The Crazies), Marilyn Burns (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Christie Sanford (Desecration). Keep an eye out for more updates; hopefully we’ll see this sucker next year.
