Director Louis Leterrier officially set to make G (formerly Gravity) after Now You See Me

Last month, we heard rumblings that CLASH OF THE TITANS director Louis Leterrier had become attached to a strange-sounding sci-fi project called GRAVITY. Today, THR is confirming that the French filmmaker is now officially signed on to make the film. And in a likely effort to not have it be confused with Alfonso Cuaron’s own ambitious project of the same name, the film will now simply be titled G.

In the process, THR is also confirming that Leterrier will indeed be making NOW YOU SEE ME – a heist thriller that pits the FBI against a bunch of illusionists – his next project before G.

Based on an original idea by producer Guymon Casady (THE EXPENDABLES), G is being described as a “sci-fi disaster pic with shades of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and TAKEN.” Original! THR is saying that the plot is being kept under wraps, but we already know thanks to the folks at Pajiba that the film is “about a father who has to search for his lost child as the world stops spinning and Earth begins to lose its gravity.” Look what you did, INCEPTION! The search now begins for writers to turn that idea into pieces of paper with words on them.
