The May 6th release date of Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is quickly approaching, and today we have a new batch of posters to look at while time passes. Six character posters can be seen at the bottom of this article (courtesy of Superhero Hype), and they put the spotlight on returning Doctor Strange characters Doctor Strange (of course), Christine Palmer, Wong, and Mordo, plus Strange’s fellow Avenger Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, and a character who is new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, America Chavez, a.k.a. Miss America.

Scripted by Jade Halley Bartlett and Loki head writer Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has the following synopsis:

In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a.k.a. Miss America.. Raimi regular Bruce Campbell is expected to make an appearance as well.

I’m a Marvel fan, so I would be looking forward to seeing this regardless, but the fact that Raimi is at the helm has put my level of anticipation for this film through the roof. I can’t wait to check it out.
