Downey’s Due Date

JoBloJoBlo

Meanwhile, in some rare non-Con news…

Robert Downey Jr. will put the red-and-gold suit in storage and slip into his laughing pants for the comedy DUE DATE, playing “an expectant father who finds himself on a road trip with a mismatched partner, as he races to get there before the birth of his first child.”

We know Downey is funny (Lazarus/Osiris really did deserve an Oscar), but it sounds like he’s the straight man here. The traveling companion? Hirsute goofball Zack Galifianakis, again with his THE HANGOVER director Todd Phillips orchestrating the clownish characters and bad decisions. Phillips describes the movie as “a buddy comedy without the buddies.”

Shooting starts in October, after which another HANGOVER begins.
