A couple months ago we told you about the gorgeous Fernanda Romero joining Sam Raimi’s DRAG ME TO HELL. That was the last we heard on the flick until today.

There’s a release date for DRAG ME TO HELL making the rounds on the net today, a release date that’s just under a year away. Raimi and company are looking at a May 29, 2009 release for DRAG ME TO HELL.

That’s an interesting release date. Assuming this one is going to be rated R though, it’s not that bad. Hell it worked for THE STRANGERS, and I’m guessing DRAG ME TO HELL is going to have just a tad more marketing… considering it’s from Sam f*cking Raimi, who along with being a genre legend recently directed some movie trilogy about a bug.

DRAG ME TO HELL has got a cast with a lot of potential too, I can’t wait to see what this group come up with. It stars Justin Long, Alison Lohman (below), Jessica Lucas, David Paymer, Fernanda Romero, and Alexi Wasser. For some reason, I’m a big fan of Justin Long’s, and I’m always looking to see what he can do when he has to be serious. So I’m stoked to see him tackle this role… plus Alison Lohman, who’s downright beautiful.

DRAG ME TO HELL is about an unsuspecting young woman (Lohman) who becomes the recipient of a supernatural curse cast upon her by a gypsy. That’s the just of it. As I’ve mentioned, Sam Raimi (above) is set to direct from a script from Raimi and his brother Ivan. As of right now… it’s set to hit theaters May 29, 2009.
