News today coming from The Hollywood Reporter has DreamWorks scoring the rights to CHOCKY, a sci-fi novel by John Wyndham.
Now this one definately has some potential. CHOCKY is about a boy who has a mysterious imaginary friend with whom he frequently argues. As the boy’s father gets increasingly suspicious, it becomes clear that an alien entity has taken up residence in the boy’s consciousness.
So that’s all we have thus far. Now I’ve heard nothing about CHOCKY until today, so I have no idea what to expect. I’m hoping for a nice twisted alien-controlling-this-kid’s-mind story. I can definately see some awesome potential in that, especially with a key director? Who do you think would fit the bill? Off the top of my head I’m thinking Richard Kelly.. just for the heck of it.
