Dreamworks’ Rise of the Guardians set to bow on blu-ray/DVD in March

Dreamworks’ holiday-themed animated film RISE OF THE GUARDIANS may not have been a hit at the box office, despite great reviews and stellar animation, but there’s always a second chance when it hits the home video market in March.  The film, starring the voice talents of Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law, Isla Fischer, and Hugh Jackman is rearranging its holiday focus to Easter rather than Christmas, which is easily done and the most logical marketing move.

Personally, I loved the movie, as did my kid, so it will definitely take up residence on my shelf.  It’s one of the more original and fun animated films I’ve seen in years, which makes it such a shame that it didn’t make a splash at the box office.  Every time something original dies at the theater, something unoriginal and “safe” takes its place.  Like FINDING NEMO 2.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS will be available in blu-ray/DVD/3D combo packs on March 12, 2013 (with an early release digital download available on February 26, 2013).  Check out the specs and artwork below!
