Elemental teaser trailer and poster show what happens when opposites attract for Pixar’s latest adventure

Pixar is bringing the heat this Thursday with an Elemental teaser trailer and poster. Their latest animated feature looks like a romantic comedy set in a fantastical world where elements mingle and lead semi-normal lives. Peter Sohn (The Good Dinosaur, Monsters University) directs the visually splendiferous film introducing animation fans to a brand-new world of wonder, mystery, and colorful characters.

In the Elemental teaser trailer, we meet a fire elemental named Ember (Leah Lewis), who boards a packed train pulling onto the Element City platform. As she walks through the transport, she passes citizens made of earth, wind, and air. When Ember tries to exit the vehicle, she drops her headphones on the train floor. She moves to pick them up, and a drop of water belonging to a water elemental splashes her hand. At this point in the teaser, Ember locks eyes with Wade (Mamoudou Athie), who looks lovestruck by Ember’s beauty. Ladies, gentlemen, and non-binary friends, welcome to an animated meet-cute between two elements that don’t mix.

Here’s the official synopsis for Elemental:

Elemental is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted, and fiery young woman whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in. Helmed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, and featuring the voices of Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, Elemental releases on June 16, 2023.

In addition to the Elemental teaser trailer, Pixar shared a gorgeous poster for the upcoming film (shown below). I did not know what to expect from Elemental, but I love everything on display in this new teaser. Pixar is known for creating robust new worlds, and I’m excited to see more of Element City when Elemental hits theaters next year.
