The creature feature Elevation, which stars Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and is directed by George Nolfi, who previously worked with Mackie on the films The Banker and The Adjustment Bureau, is already filming in Colorado right now… but don’t expect to see it very soon. In a new report on Deadline, it’s mentioned that Elevation isn’t expected to receive a worldwide release until sometime in 2024. The good news is, the movie has already secured distribution in many territories.

According to Deadline, Mossbank has sold the film to over twenty-five markets. That includes “Signature for the UK, Ireland, Australia and NZ, Metropolitan for France, IDC for Latin America, VVS Films for Canada, Tripictures and DeaPlaneta for Spain, Mis. Label for Scandinavia, The Searchers for Benelux and Seven. One for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Prorom and Kino Swiat have taken Eastern Europe and Poland, Phars bought Middle East, Empire took South Africa, Encore has for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, First Run has Korea, Moviecloud acquired Taiwan, Sahamongkol took Thailand, Pioneer for Philippines, Pris for Portugal, Odeon for Greece and Cyprus, BG for Turkey and Top Film for Ukraine, CIS and Baltics.”

Scripted by Kenny Ryan and Jacob Roman, Elevation is described as being a “high-concept, thematically driven action piece set in the Rocky Mountains”. The story centers on

a single father and two women who must venture from the safety of their home to face monstrous creatures in order to save the life of a child.

Nolfi and Mackie are producing the film with Brad Fuller, John Glenn, Alex Black, Jeremy Kipp Walker, and Joel Viertel. Black, founder of the production company Lyrical Media, is providing the financing. Jon Rosenberg and Alex Ginno of Fuller’s company Fuller Media serve as executive producers alongside Natalie Sellers of Lyrical and Jason Spire of Inspire Entertainment. Ryan and Roman, who previously worked on the CBS series SEAL Team, are co-producing.

Mackie is joined in the cast by Maddie Hasson (Malignant) and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool).

Mossbank’s Michael Rothstein and Sam Hall provided the following statement: “We’re extremely grateful to have been entrusted with Elevation by Lyrical Media, Brad Fuller and George Nolfi, and we couldn’t be prouder of the response from the international market. It reminds us that there’s substantial appetite and support in the independent space for studio-level filmmaking from world-leading producers, directors, writers and stars. We are extremely grateful to all our international partners on the film for taking this ride with us, and can’t wait to bring Elevation to audiences worldwide in 2024.
