Looks like Emma Stone may climb CRIMSON PEAK with Guillermo del Toro!

Nothing official yet folks, but Variety has it that the lovely Emma Stone (pictured) is in early discussions to star in del Toro’s ghost story CRIMSON PEAK. We first told you about the flick in early December, and now it looks for sure that it’ll be del Toro’s next directorial effort after PACIFIC RIM.

No details on Stone’s potential part were given, neither were many new plot points, but we do know that CRIMSON PEAK will be “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow del Toro to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.”

Word is del Toro will, with Lucinda Coxon, retool the original script he wrote with Matthew Robbins. Plans are for the flick to shoot by February of 2014. Hopefully that isn’t too long for Stone to drop out for one reason or another.
