Emma Stone passes on Ghostbusters 3, will Jonah Hill star?

Damn, this GHOSTBUSTERS 3 sumbitch is harder to kill than a cockroach horde…

Remember last month when we told you that stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill were offered the lead roles in GHOSTBUSTERS 3? Yeah well, Emma has officially passed on the project. Not sure about you, but if that means more delays and even a potential scrapping altogether, I'm in favor of the news.

As for Jonah Hill, he's apparently still in the running. Peep the quote Schmoes Know was able to pull:

"Emma Stone is passing on "Anna" but Jonah Hill still has an offer out for "Jeremy". Interesting enough, Sony wants two big stars signed on or they will not green light the picture."

Wow, so the movie isn't even green-lit yet, and won't be unless two "stars" sign on? Yup, leave it to Sony to prioritize star power over the actual script. Sad, but that seems to be the norm for the studios these days. I just wonder if the kind of stars they're looking for are going to be willing to partake in such a polarizing project. Obviously, Emma wasn't feeling it, and my guess is Jonah Hill won't either.

Question then remains. Which two stars should take the GHOSTBUSTERS 3 gig, if any? Should Aykroyd, Reitman and company finally take a hint and just forget about the movie once and for all?

Emma!
